Sun Connect — an internal Sun International application.
1. Master Privacy Policy
This app is operated by Sun International Limited as Responsible Party under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). All personal information processed by this app is governed by the Sun International Information Privacy Policy v2.0 (approved 22 October 2025 by the IT Governance Committee), which adheres to the eight POPIA principles: Accountability, Processing Limitation, Specific Purpose, Further Processing Limitation, Information Quality, Openness, Security Safeguards, Data Subject Participation.
The internal Information Privacy Policy is held in the SI SharePoint Repository at sunint.sharepoint.com/sites/GR-SI-SunIT and is the authoritative source. The public-facing privacy notice at suninternational.com/privacy summarises external-user information.
2. What this app processes
Personal Information processed
Sun Connect processes the following personal information of employees: full name, work email, employee number, job title, department, profile photo, work telephone and mobile numbers, and any optional details the employee adds to their card (tagline, LinkedIn, WhatsApp). For the contact-exchange feature it also stores details that external contacts choose to share back (name, company, email, phone). It records scan/view counts per card for analytics — no IP addresses or personal identifiers of scanners.
Specific Purpose (POPIA Principle 3)
To provide employees with branded digital business cards and a staff directory, and to let employees capture contacts shared with them.
